Emily Marlett

President

Emily is the 2021/2022 ASU Women’s Club  President.  She came to Appalachian State University in 2003 as a trailing spouse with her husband Davis who is a professor in the Walker College of Business.  Emily works as a real estate broker at Allen Tate Real Estate in Boone and enjoys exploring the outdoors. She has raised 3 children here and fostered numerous others in the community.  She has been an active member of ASUWC since 2004 and has held numerous roles over the years including Newcomers Chair, Secretary, Vice

President, and President.

Marcia Clay

Marcia moved to Boone in 2012 to work in the ASU Career Center until her retirement in 2017. She has been active in ASUWC since 2015. She is chair of the Morning Book Club and Movie Appreciation. She also enjoys Evening Book Club, Lunch Bunch and Day Trippers. Outside of ASUWC Marcia’s favorite activities include getting together with friends and family, and travel. She was born and raised in Alaska and has gone back several times since moving “outside.” She has a map on her wall at home that shows all of the states and countries she has visited. One of her mottos is 'Life is short and the world is wide.' Her bucket list includes seeing as much as she can!

Bethany Gonzalez

Bethany Gonzalez is a two time Appalachian State graduate and currently serves as the interim program director for student veteran services at Appalachian. Bethany enjoys walking her dog at the greenway, cooking, crafting and App State football.

Kate has been with ASUWC since 2012 and has lived in the High Country since 2004. Over the years she has enjoyed ASUWC activities in the evening book club and hiking group. Kate also enjoys reading, walking in parks, and volunteering at FARM Café.

Alyson Ebaugh

Alyson attended App State as an undergraduate and has lived in Boone with her husband Nevin since 2005. Together, they raised three boys in the High Country. Alyson currently serves App State as the Interim Associate Vice Chancellor of The Office of Human Resources. Alyson enjoys learning, reading, meditation, yoga, knitting, and taking long walks with her dog Posey.

Teri has loved living in the High Country since 1986. She has been a member of ASUWC since 2013, joining activities with several club groups. Outside of ASUWC, Teri enjoys gardening (which mostly involves trying to outwit the slugs and the deer). She also loves plant swapping, book swapping, trying new recipes ... and she is always up for sharing the High Country with new residents and visitors from around the world!
